Reiki
Reiki is a form of healing where the practitioner's hands channel healing energy to the recipient.Rei-Ki - what it means,
In Japanese, Rei means universal and Ki means the same as Chi in Chinese, the life force. It is also called the vital life force or the universal life force.
Reiki:
Reiki has been found to be particularly helpful for illness and stress caused or aggravated by emotional issues - past or present - such as bereavement, family issues, work problems.
Reiki like other complementary therapies is now being used in hospitals, hospices, intensive care units and counselling rooms.
The Reiki Treatment
You will lie in a comfortable reclining chair, covered with a lightweight blanket.
No clothing is removed - Reiki works thro clothing - and no religious belief is necessary.
The lights will be lowered and there will be relaxing music.
Some Reiki healers will place their hands on the body. I generally do not. I work mostly in the aura so hold my hands a few inches over the body in the hand positions taught by Reiki Masters. These hand positions cover the energy chakras which feed the energy body. A treatment lasts about 40 minutes. Afterwards you should rest and enjoy the feeling of peace and calm that has been given through Reiki.
Reiki healing can also be focussed on a particular area of the body. In this case, you might want to book a shorter treatment. Or 10 minutes of Reiki healing for a specific problem can be incorporated into a reflexology treatment. This is a very popular and beneficial option.
Many people can feel the healing energy as heat or tingling or sometimes as a cool draught of air. If a lot of medication is being taken, these sensations may not be felt, but the energy is still there.
